FMP Week 12

Week 12 is the last week of the FMP and is the week I will spend finalising my edit, ensuring all the files in the right spot and finishing my Wix website. Editing has been tricky for this film, the mirror scene is the shot I have worked on the most to get it to look professional and looking as clean as possible. For the shot below I masked the mirror manually and slowed down the Spider-Man shot slightly to sync up the reflection as best as possible.

I believe that editing is my strongest point so I am hoping to edit the project to the best of my ability and have this as my best piece. I plan on creating effects for when the shocker is punching and adding in Spider-Man web effects which I plan on doing in after effects using the Saber plugin for the shockers punches. If I could have done the project differently I would have left more time for me to edit as I believe we spent a lot of time reshooting and changing locations and the saved time could have been used to improve the edit beyond what I have at the moment.

Week 12, Wednesday - Friday

After finishing the shots I was left to edit and I believe I did not leave myself nearly enough time to edit as I had hoped. I had to cut back on the length reducing the film by 2 or 3 minutes and cutting it short and go light on some of the effects. I had hoped to show my skills with after effects for the shockers gauntlets using the Saber plugin for after effects for the punches but just didn't have the time to add it in and ended up with a rushed shake effect. Although I was low on time, I did manage to talk to 2 viewers and ask them about their feedback for a small preview. Both viewers said they where interested in watching the whole film and both thought that the colours showing spider-mans emotions where rather subtle when I asked if they could tell the colours changing based on Spider-Mans mood. In response to the feedback I increased the vibrance of the colour changes and even turned the last few minutes where Spider-Man is defeated into grey scale.
